QTP – SAFE WORK AND VERIFICATION OF ELECTRICAL INSTALLS (UEEEL0002)

This Queensland Only course covers the requirements to apply currency of safe working practices and compliance verification of electrical installations.

Gain the skills and knowledge required to apply currency of safe working practices and compliance verification of an electrical installation – Including preparing, following and applying safe work practices for a work area to verify compliance of an electrical installation. The licensing regulator may require a holder of Unrestricted Electrician’s Licence or Qualified Electrical Contracting Licence to undertake this unit periodically to demonstrate currency in safe working, electrical rescue practices and compliance verification of electrical installations. Only students holding an Unrestricted Electrical Licence are eligible to enrol in this unit.

Who should enrol?

  • Students that have been sent by the Electrical Safety Office (ESO)
  • When you are re-applying for Contractors Licencing and a change in circumstances occur – ESO has requested you to complete the unit.

Course Delivery

1 day – Students attend Northgate Training Centre to undertake Assessment requirements.

Recommendation: We highly recommend if you are not confident in testing, you attend the 1 day non accredited testing course to update your skills (LV Switching and Testing AS3017 LVR CPR)

Outcomes

Upon successful completion, you will have the skills to:
→ Prepare to enter a work area and verify compliance of an electrical installation
→ Follow workplace procedures for hazard identification
→ Apply safe work practices to verifying an electrical installation
→ Report compliance findings

Students should have access to the Australian Standards AS3000 and AS3008.1.1 and have an understanding of the requirements of testing as it applies to the course.
