High Voltage Switching Refresher (Live Web-based)

Course Description

Our High Voltage Switching Operate, Develop & Perform refresher course is designed for students with High Voltage (HV) experience and competencies that now need to refresh their knowledge and skills to allow them to continue to write switching sheets and perform switching operations.

This course delivers in depth refresher training on how to safely perform duties of a High Voltage Switching Operator. This course is a Nationally Recognised course which has been written to meet the requirements of the latest training packages; UEP – Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector Training Package and UET – Transmission, Distribution and Rail Sector Training Package.

Electrical workers, technicians and engineers involved with maintaining high voltage electrical equipment that are due to refresh are suitable to undertake this course. The course covers the legislation, theory and practical aspect of high voltage installations and maintenance. Volt Edge students who hold an unrestricted electrical licence are eligible to gain a Statement of Attainment with competencies from the UET Transmission Package and UEP Generation package as listed on the next page. All other students who do not meet the pre-requisites will gain a Statement of Attainment from the UEP Generation Package only.

Content Delivery

Online via live web. Full interaction with the trainer from your own location.

*LIVE WEB Training – interact with your trainer and assessor live as if you were in the classroom. Trainer will work through your theory, show you videos and be available whilst you complete your written assessments. Then you will complete your practical by writing your switching sheet and Switch on a SCADA Schematic in pairs.

• Microsoft Word
• Use 2 monitors when attending live web courses. 2 monitors are recommended to ensure your access and view to the course material is streamlined, and your interaction throughout the course is optimal.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will have the skills to:

→ Develop H.V. switching programs.
→ Control permit to work operations.
